One more advantage of the bigger size is the possibility to set the large main spring, which entails minimum 54 hours of power reserve. As for the appearance of the sapphire crystal case back, the image has also been improved because the new movement has better filled the case.

Another difference between the old and new 1966 high-end watches relates to the materials used in the production. Along with the case made of 18 karat pink gold, the 1966 Blue Dial model is also available in a version made of 18 karat white gold with a matching pin buckle. The same beautiful dial contains perfectly executed indicators. Hands and applied index markers are made of gold corresponding to the case material. As the movement has become larger, a date window has shifted further along the scale, thereby giving this new Swiss watch a more balanced design. However, the date aperture remains white for both versions. In addition, the 1966 Blue Dial model features a slightly spherical crystal and also a diamond polished bezel, which enhances the delicacy of the timepiece. The choice between these fine watches with 38 mm or 41 mm case depends entirely on individual preferences. The diameter of 38 mm is rather small, but such a timepiece can be also seen as ladies watch according to current standards. At the same time, the model with the diameter of 41 mm will probably be very popular among potential buyers and Girard-Perregaux fans.
